Catalogue Note

Irwin’s voyage from India to England in 1777 was interrupted when his ship was captured by pirates in the Red Sea. His journey is of particular interest for its detailed descriptions of the passage up the Red Sea coast of Arabia from Mocha to the Gulf of Aqaba.
