Condition

Executed on cream wove paper, laid down on thin paper, hinged to the overmount in two points with tape along the upper edge. There is a repaired tear (approx. 9 cm long) to the lower part of the right edge and another repaired tear (approx.. 9 cm long) to the lower part of the left edge. There is a vertical crease running across the centre of the composition and an horizontal crease running across the composition. There are a few further flattened creases predominately along the extreme edges. The sheet is slightly light stained with a few dots of foxing, notably to the lower left quadrant. There are a few faint handling marks towards the upper left corner.

Catalogue Note

At the centre of the sheet is a small sketch relating to Dalí's celebrated painting of 1952, Galatea des sphères (Théâtre-Musée Dalí, Figueres).
