Condition
Overall in very good condition. The wood appears to have been sensitively refinished at some point in the history of the piece and has been beautifully preserved, presenting with some scattered, extremely minor surface scratches and abrasions, only visible upon very close inspection. The bronze surface of the clock face presents with some minor paint loss concentrated to the numbers, consistent with age and gentle use. When viewed in person, the bronze surfaces present with a rich and warm patina. Some light spotting to metal within the barometer element, not visually detractive. When viewed in person, the deep and rich tones of the walnut wood are masterfully carved, with the delicate bronze decoration complementing the whiplash curves of the casework. While the clockwork proved operative at the time of cataloguing, functionality of the movement is not guaranteed and it could need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note: this lot is sold with a winding key.
