Description
Of scroll design, the centre set with a step-cut fancy yellow diamond weighing approximately 3.10 carats, surrounded by circular-, step- and single-cut diamonds of yellow and brown tint, and single-cut and baguette diamonds.
Condition
Accompanied by GCS report no. 78154-95, stating that the octagonal-cut diamond measuring approximately 10.2 x 7.6 x 4.8mm and weighing approximately 3.10 carats, is fancy yellow colour, I1-I2 clarity. Accompanied by facsimiles of the correspondence between Carrington & Co and the original buyer discussing the purchase of the brooch, as well as facsimiles of the design sketch and receipt for £1,000, dated 1951. Remaining diamonds bright and lively, estimated diamond weight approximately 7.50-8.50 carats, VS-SI clarity. Pin closes securely with good tension, some tarnish to reverse of pin. Dimensions approximately 43 x 40mm, gross weight approximately 25 grams, in good condition.
