Description
Of floral design, the leaves applied with green basse taille enamel, the flowers set with circular-cut diamonds and pearls, the largest pearl measuring approximately 5.2 x 6.0 x 6.7mm, French assay mark.
Provenance
Gifted from Charlie Chaplin to his wife Oona O'Neil, daughter of playwright Eugene O'Neil, after settling in Switzerland. Thence by descent.
Condition
Brooch pin stamped with French assay mark for 18 carat gold. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 3.50 - 4.50 carats, estimated to be approximately I-K colour, SI-I clarity. Brooch measuring approximately 80 x 64mm. Light scratches consistent with age and wear, overall in very good condition. Gross weight approximately 44.4 grams.
