Description

  • Length 2 3/4  in., 6.8 cm
carved in the form of a pair of ripe peaches borne on gnarled leafy branches, a bat perched on one peach facing downwards, the stone a warm white

Collection of Sadie Feika (1897-1977).
Gifted to The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, in 1966 (acc. no. 1966.445a-b).

Condition

The waterpot is in overall good condition with very little surface wear aside from a small nick to the tip of a branch at the underside of the waterpot. The stone has a slightly dry surface and a very subtle yellowish tinge compared to the illustration in the printed catalog.
