finely carved, the standing figure with rounded eyes beneath thick eyebrows above an exaggerated nose, the lips with a gentle smile framed by a curly beard, wearing a pointed cap and clad in long, voluminous robes, clutching a brocade ball in one hand, the other securing a leash attached to the upturned snout of a seated lion, the animal with furrowed eyebrows above bulging eyes and flaring nostrils, further detailed with a long flowing mane and bushy tail, a further smaller lion poised atop its back, also gazing upward, grasping the stem of a leafy chrysanthemum bloom, the stone of an even pale celadon tone scattered with milky opaque inclusions, wood stand (2)

The carving is in overall good condition with only very minor expected wear to the surface, including a couple tiny nicks to the edges. The color of the stone is very slightly greener than in the illustration in the printed catalog.
