- Height 8 3/8 in., 21.2 cm
of fangding form, the rectangular body supported on four taotie masks over columnar legs encircled by two raised bands, the sides of the vessel decorated with raised bosses and divided by flame-shaped flanges, the rim set with a pair of upright ruyi-form handles resting on the square-cut rim, the tapered rectangular cover similarly carved and surmounted by a Buddhist lion and cub-form finial, the translucent white stone with icy-white inclusions, two Japanese wood boxes (6)

Condition
The censer and cover are in overall good condition with only very minor chips to the edges and a few areas of high relief. The tips of the feet appear to have a few shallow polished chips. The color of the stone is slightly more icy-white than in the illustration in the printed catalog.
