Description
- Height 12 1/2 in., 31.8 cm
seated in rajalilasana, the shoulders flanked by a kalavinka bird and a kundika borne by blossoming lotuses from vines stemming from the bodhisattva's hands, the proper right hand draped over the raised right knee, the other palm placed on the edge of the platform base for support, the head enclosing a small Amitabha figure with an elaborate crown, the ears and shapely body adorned with ornaments and jewels, all supported by a double-lotus base with pendent sashes
Condition
The tip of the central point of the diadem lost, as seen in the catalogue image. The figure has had its surface cleaned and the front of the figure has been re-gilded. The base has likely been cleaned and re-lacquered or varnished. The base lacks the base plate and there are two small circular apertures in the front.
