Description

  • Height 6 1/4  in., 16 cm
the Daoist god seated in a wide stance, wearing a long dragon robe draped over elaborately patterned armor with beast-mask shielded shoulders and panels of protective chainmail, the long, straight hair and beard neatly combed down the back, the raised proper left hand in the archetypal hand position, the right hand grasping the ruyi-capped sword hilt (2)

Condition

In overall good condition with minor dents and surface wear. The sword blade likely later. The back of the seat with two small circular apertures, possibly for mounting an additional element. With minor patches to the underside of the base, likely created at the time of original manufacture and not visible from the top. The underside with a wax export seal as well.
