  • Length of longest 7 1/2  in., 19 cm
comprising a brush and cover, a mountain-form brush rest, two scroll-form brush rests, a wrist rest, a seal box and cover, a seal paste box and cover, a washer, a brushpot, and a waterpot, each finely painted in black and gray with seasonal foliage, and some with pairs of birds or butterflies, each signed biyunshanfang ('the house of jade cloud mountain') (13) 

Condition

The scholars objects are in good overall condition. There is a U-form crack extending from the rim of the brush cover. There is wear to the surfaces overall consistent with use and age, including wear to the painted decoration, minute nicks along edges and some light staining to the biscuit in areas.
