Catalogue Note
IWC unveiled the Portuguese minute repeating reference 5240 in 1995. The watch retains all of the vintage aspects that made the original Portuguese, introduced in the late 1930s, an instant classic. The dial is simple with plain Arabic numerals and pearled outer minute track. For a complicated watch one might not immediately notice at first glance, especially as the repeating slide will usually be hidden away from view under the cuff of a jacket or shirt. The reference saw a limited run of only 250 pieces.
