Catalogue Note

Designed in 1917 and officially launched in 1919, the Cartier Tank epitomises the richness of Cartier’s 20th Century designs, characterised by sleek lines, well balanced proportions and refined forms.

Research indicates that the Tank Reference 21612 was originally made by Cartier New York for the American market in the mid 1960s. The curved case perfectly adapts to the wrist and enhances its avant-garde aesthetic. The model reference 21612, the movement number 2412 and the case number 763 are stamped inside the case. To our knowledge, less than 1,000 watches of this model were produced. It is very rare to find a Tank Ref. 21612 in such a good condition.
