The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The chronograph is operating. The dial is extremely attractive and original. The enamel signature and scales are nicely raised. There is a minor loss to the outer track between 1 and 2 o'clock and a second between 8 and 10 o'clock. The case is very crisp and in nice original condition with only light surface wear, which is more than consistent with the age of the watch. Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. This Vacheron Constantin chronograph reference 4178 is a charming example fitted with a highly charismatic two-tone champagne dial and is further enhanced with a pulsation scale. The reference was first introduced in 1938 and was so popular that it stayed in production until the early 1970s. The watch is further highlighted with a very crisp case and hard enamel scales for the signatures on the dial.
