Description
- DAYTONA, REFERENCE 6239 A STAINLESS STEEL CHRONOGRAPH WRISTWATCH WITH BRACELET, CIRCA 1970
Dial: silvered Calibre: cal. 722 mechanical, 17 jewels Case: stainelss steel, screw down case back Case number: 2'377'618 Closure: stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet and folding clasp Size: 36 mm diameter, bracelet circumference approximately 175 mm Signed: case, dial and movement Accessories: Rolex presentation case
Condition
Movement running at the time of cataloguing and chronograph functioning. The case with signs of minor polishing with light surface scratches to the band and bezel which is more than consistent with the age of the watch. The bracelet is slightly warped and lost some elasticity in places, stamped for 1975 and is Rolex USA.. The dial overall in good condition, however the lume plots at 2, 3 7 and 8 have detached. Lume to the dial and hands react as expected under UV light. The case back with a nice crisp milled edge. The inside outer edge of the case back with minor pitting. The numbers between the lugs are very crisp and easy to read. Please note that the movement has not been tested for the accuracy of time and may need a service at the buyer's expense. Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement and we do not guarantee the authenticity of any individual component parts since subsequent repairs and restoration work may have resulted in the replacement of original parts. You are advised that watch straps or bands made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator or crocodile) are not sold with the watch and we reserve the right to remove these straps or bands prior to shipping. Furthermore, the watch may not come with its original manufacturers strap or band.
