Catalogue Note

The present model features the rare equation of time complication. This function measures the amount of time by which the mean time, or time told by a clock, is ahead or behind apparent time, or time told by a sundial. Apparent, or true, time takes into account the Earth's changing angle with respect to the Sun so that some days are slightly longer than 24 hours and some are slightly shorter. The combination of this feature with perpetual calendar in Ref. 3470 is the result of Breguet's 1991 patent of a perpetual calendar movement with equation of time.

An example of Ref. 3470 is illustrated in Breguet, E., Breguet: Watchmakers since 1775, p. 175.
