Condition
The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals a diagonal line of retouching (approximately 7cm. long) to the background at the centre of the composition. There are artist's pinholes to all four corners as well as at the centre of the upper and lower edges. There are vertical stretcher bar marks visible in the centre of the composition as well as along the left and right edges. There is some old frame abrasion to the extreme edges, which is not visible when framed. There are some isolated, fine lines of craquelure to the lower left quadrant as well as to the sky in the upper right corner. This work is in overall good condition and might benefit from a clean.
