15. Titel (Title)

In 1915, in a letter to Alfred Kubin, the Austrian poet Felix Grafe mentions Andrejew, Stendhal and Kipling, who are also referred to in the inscriptions on the present works. In the letter he cites an introduction that he is preparing for Eiserne Zeiten, a publication which it appears never came to fruition, for which however Kubin's Unter dem Zeichen des Mars work served as inspiration.

The authenticity of these works has been confirmed by Dr. Peter Assmann.
