Condition
The work consists of a number of wooden elements, some of which are painted. These all appear to be securely adhered. There are a few chips and nicks to the wood largely to the extreme edges, most of which are intrinsic to the medium, with one more prominent loss to the extreme upper edge of the main vertical structure. There is some very minor discolouration to the wood from the adhesive used to join the main vertical and horizontal elements. There are a few nicks, chips and flecks of loss to the blue paint, with one more prominent surface crack. There are a few vertical cracks to the wooden base, which appear to be in line with the grain of the wood and in keeping with the medium. There may be some historic infilling of these cracks with paint. There is surface dirt and matter, particularly to the creviced areas. This excepting the work appears to be in very good overall condition. The work is freestanding. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
