The dish is in overall good condition. There is wear to the surface consistent with age and use and there are expected minor imperfections consistent with type.

Mr. Cheung Sam Woo, a successful Hong Kong entrepreneur, was appointed the head of the Customs and Excise Department in the early 20th century. He became one of the wealthiest men in Hong Kong during his time and was an avid collector of Chinese art.
