Description
The Rolex Milgauss was first introduced in 1956 (reference 6541) for scientists and individ🌄uals exposed to high magnetic fields. It could resist magnetic fields up to 1,000 gauss, thanks to anti-magnetic alloys and an iron movement cover, creating a Faraday cage to protect the watch's accuracy. In 1960, the Milgauss was updated with reference 1019, featuring a smooth bezel, new hands, and indexes, but it wasn't as popular, leading to production ending in 1988. Rolex reintroduced the Milgauss in 2007 (reference 116400), bringing back the distinctive orange lightning seconds hand and adding orange accents to the dial.
