with small medallion design
approximately 150 by 112cm; 4ft. 11in., 3ft. 8in.
White ground rugs with small cintamani or 'leopard spot' designs, are recorded 🌞as being produced in Selendi, along with their better known ﷽'Bird' rugs, in the 17th century. Schürmann illustrated an earlier version in
Oriental Carpets, London 1968, p. 14. Based on colour anꩵd structure this is assigned to the nearby weaving centre of Ghiordes, and a century later.
