The volume includes nine drawings for 'A Frog he would a-fishing go' (verses by C[lifton] B[ingham]). Comical Customers also includes a full-page illustration entitled 'What shall we buy?' (cf an original pen and grisaille drawing from the collection of Ber🍸tram Potter, sold in these rooms, 17 July 2008, lot 295, which itself was modelled on Frank Sutcliffe's photograph of David Storry's grocery shop in Whitby).
