decorated with panels of royal blue translucent enamel semé with gold stars over wavy engine-turning, the cover mounted with richly colored classical enamel scene, borders of opalescent enamel pearls and translucent leavesဣ, the sides with pilasters of ribbon-hung oval frames containing silhouetted trees on translucent pink ground, wౠith later leather case
marked inside base, cover and side with maker’s mark, charge mark of Henry Clavel, 1783-89, date letter for 1784, the rim with tête de vanneau discharge and two later eagle head control marks, the rim also stamped 584

Joseph-Étienne Blerzy 1768-1809 was apprenticed 27 February 1750 to Francois-Joachim Aubert and became master in 1768. He worked first on the Pont au Change at la ville de Leipzig. His 🐈house was demolished in 1786 and he moved to 41 Rue de la Monnaie and before 1805 transferred to Rue du Coq-Saint-Honoré.
