Little is known of the Dutch born artist, Guillermo Ducker. However, the first surviving reference to him is in a letter from Francisco de Goya to Secretary of State, Mariano Luis de Urquijo in December 1799. Goya asked that Ducker be released from prison so ౠthat he could paint po🍷rtraits of King Charles VI and his family. The present miniature of the King's consult is a result of this request.
