The reference 1450 was produced from 1❀940 to the early 1960s and affectionately nicknamed ‘Top Hat’ by collectors due to its tall case profile. Intereꦏstingly, Italians also refer to this reference as ‘Cinesino’, as the case profile is indeed reminiscent of a Pagoda architecture.
This collectible r👍eference bears several interesting features, the first being its compelling shape-case, manufactured by none other than Markowski. The reliable manually-wound caliber 9’’’90 stands amongst Patek Philippe’s most highly regarded form movements.
The ‘Top Hat’ reference 1450 was available in yellow, rose and white gold in addition to platinum. T🍷he rarest execution of the Top Hat is the white gold model, which appeared only once on the market.
The present wristwatch was sold in 1946 and is crafted from 18ct yellow gold. Its first series dial bears a long black hard-enamelled Patek, Philippe Co signature, applied baton and dot indexes and a set of matching gold baton hands. The absence of a minute track gives the naturally patinated dial an elegant and simplistic appeal. Furthermore, the present reference 1450 is offered wit💎h an 18ct yellow gold Patek Philippe bracelet, making a strong statement on the wrist as well as😼 with its original presentation case.
