Please note: Condition 9 of the Condi🦩tions of Business for Buyers for this 🌞sale is not applicable to this lot.

This beautifully hand-painted and detailed Picchvai would have originally been designed to hang behind the idol of Shrinathji, an incarnation of the Hindu god Krishna. The central opening would have been reserved for a separately painted image of Shrinathji, which this textile would have🔥 been intended to surround. The grand white architectural facades in the background recall the temple town of Nathdwara in Udaipur, where Shrinathji's mains shrine is located and an important pilgrimage centre.
