Mies van der Rohe authorised Florence Knoll to produce the Barcelona chairs in 1947. Knoll first granted a licence to Wohnbedarf AG in Zürich to🧔 edit furniture. Then Walter Meili was commiss💎ioned by the managing director of Wohnbedarf to manufacture the prototype of the Barcelona chair in 1948-1949.
