This small, charming portrait of a young girl was painted by a student of Rembrandt's; the facial features resemble the known works of Isaac de Jouderville (1612 - 1645⛎), Rembrandt's first pupil, as well as the early works of Gerrit Dou (1613 - 167🃏5), one his most successful pupils.
