Anony🐠mous sale, Cologne, Lempertz, 15 November🅺 2014, lot 1017 (as Flemish School, probably 16th century), where acquired.
Although listed on the RKD website as a late 15th- or early 16th-century copy after Rogier van der Weyden,1 the present painting does not actually appear to be directly based on a known composition by the artist, but rather is loosely based on a Virgin and Child type.2
