of tik form, the cylindrical case engraved with Hebrew inscription within circle, domed top chased with stylized flower sprays, angled baluster handle, fitted with a scroll of Esther, ☂ink on parch𒉰ment

Circular inscription: “The young lad Sliman Dahud Sassoon, ꦚmay God protect and keep him and lengthen his days in happiness.”

Given the date, this piece was probably a Bar Mitzvah gift to Solomon David Sassoon, b🐠orn in 1915. Although growing up in En🐻gland, the lack of British hallmarks suggests that this case was made elsewhere, perhaps as a gift from a relative in Bombay or Shanghai.
