Two other examples of this model are recorded. The first, in the Musée Nissim de Camondo in Paris, has a much simpler marble base and a later onyx bowl suspended between the palm columns rather than a Chinese canopy and weathervane. The second is in the Royal Collection (RCIN 2868) and was probably supplied by Daguerre to the Prince Regent for the Chinese Room at Carlton House in the late 1780s or early 1790s. The rockwork base, Chinese drummer figure and Chin𓃲ese superstructure are almost identical to the Zilkha version, with small variations to casting and a different pierced fretwork design, but the Chinese figure and canopy are colourfully painted, in keeping with the exotic decorative scheme of the interior.
In 1811 the furnishings of the Chinese Room were moved to the Bow🙈 Room on the principal level of Carlton House, and a new base in the form of a gilt bronze tasseled cushion was added by Vulliamy.👍 In 1819 the clock was transferred to Brighton Pavilion, where it was recorded in the Drawing Room of the Lord Stewart's Apartments, and when the Pavilion was sold in 1846 the clock was sent to Windsor Castle. It has currently been returned to Brighton Pavilion on loan.
