An Egyptian Polychrome Wood Model Boat
1st Interme📖diate Period/11th Dynasty, 2180-1938 B.C.
probably representing a boat made of dried papyrus, the two o𓆏wners seated amidships, three standing attendant figures behind them, two oarsmen near the bow.
Length 40 cm.

John Gadsby is the author of My Wanderings, Being Travels in the East in 1846-47, 1850-51, 1852-53, in which he describes his extensive travels in Mal🦂ta, Smyrna, Egypt, the Holy Land and Jerusalem, Italy, Greece, and other lands. It was first published in London in 1855. A second volಞume covered his travels between 1855 and 1859.
