Anton Prinner, whose real name was Anna, changed her name when she moved from Hungary to France in 19♍28. She insisted on being called "he" for the rest of her life. In Paris, a pupil of Hayter, ☂she/he also devoted herself/himself to engraving as well as painting and sculpture. Prinner, a regular at La Coupole, became close to artists active in Montparnasse as well as to emigrants from Eastern Europe. This artwork presented in the Le-Tan collection is one of the artist's best-known works and bridges of the world of sculpture with that of engraving.

A Paris, élève de Hayter, elle/ il s’adonne à la gravure autant qu’à la peinture et la sculpture. Prinner se lia à la fois aux artistes actifs à Montparnasse ainsi qu’aux émigrés d’Europe de l’Est. L’œuvre de la collection Le-Tan est une des plus connues de l’artiste et lie à la fois le monde de la sculpture à celui de la gravure.
