8vo (250 x 150 mm). Most pages untrimmed; stray spots, one or two small marginal holes, a few leaves with creases and dampstains at margin. Stab-sewn in original 🍌printed buff wrappers; old horizontal fold to pamphlet, light fingersoiling, loss to rear wrapper and at spine. In a🐼 quarter green morocco slipcase, with folding chemise.
The rare attempted Missouri State Constitution of 1845. Missouri's first constitution was adopted in 1820, and came into effect when the state joined the Union in 1821. The present text was the second proposed constitution, drafted due to the growing population, but was defeated by a majority and not ratified. Scarce.
