"Don't Tread on Me." [American colonies, ca. 1775]

Original carved boxwood block (76 x 98 m⛄m); accompanied by a modern impression of the block. Uniformly framed. 

The present political cartoon, depicting a rattlesnake on a striped flag, symbolized the American Revolution as this serpent gave fair warning, but was deadly in its strike. Similar imagery and mottoes adorned sever𒊎al flags throughout the War.
