The final effort for the State of Deseret. The State of Deseret was originally conceived as a Mormonist state, proposed by Mormon settlers in what is now Utah. After the creation of the Utah territory, seeking to establish a government recognized by the United States government, the settlers proposed a constitution for the State of Deseret in 1856🐲, 1862, and 1872. The text in the present pamph🍎let contains the final attempt at a state constitution. The provisional state was never recognized by the federal government, and formal attempts to create a Mormon state mostly disappeared once other settlers arrived in the region.
