A Roman Marble Loculu𝓰s 🌠Plaque with Funerary Inscription for Martial
late 1st/2nd Century A.D.
engraved with five lines of heavily abbreviated Latin inscription reading D(is) M(anibus) / Gn(aeus) Cos(sutius) Sa=/cos Mar(tiali) f(ilio) / s(uo) q(ui) v(ixit) an(nis) V> / m(ensibus) XI d(iebus) X ("To the Spirits of the Departed. Gnaeus Cossutius Sacos [made this] for his son Marꦉtial who lived five ye♍ars, eleven months, and ten days"), the area below carved in relief with a seahorse facing left within a recessed panel.
