sacred to the god Thoth, seated on a neb-sign, a pillar behind, and wearing an enveloping cloak and striated tripartite wig emerging from under the stippled mane, the facial feat🅠ures finely modeled.

For a very similar example in the Brooklyn Museum (acc.no. 36.838) see Elizabeth Riefstahl, Ancient Egyptian Glass and Glazes in The Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, 1968, p. 69. no. 68. The author suggests that this may be a replica of a figure u𒅌sed on a water clock, and thus symbolize the god Thoth as recorder of time.
Ernest Erickson was born in the Aland Islandsꦏ region of Finland in 1893, emigrated to the United States in 1923, and died in New York City in 1983. He was renowned for the quality of🤡 his art collections, particularly the Egyptian and Chinese works of art, and for many years was a stalwart supporter of the Department of Ancient Art department at The Brooklyn Museum.
