moulded and gilt with classical borders and a snake above acanthus leaves, with a gilt-edged fluted foot and circular pedestal, the domed cover with an acanthus leaf and berry finial, each painted with two landscape medallions, one painted with views of the Neue Palais, Potsdam and the Kronprinzenpalais, Berlin, the other with the StadtShloss and the Altes Palais, Berlin, sceptre marks in underglaze-blue, printed orb over KPM marks in iron-red, impressed letter D, numeral 2, with gilt-metal liners
