height 17¼in.; width 62½in.; length 46 in.
44 cm; 159 cm; 117 cm
This model depicts a Curtiss P-6E Hawk, 🍌an American single-engine biplane fighter operated by the United States Army Air Corps from the late 1920s through♍ the late 1930s, prior to the outbreak of World War II. Though never used in combat, 46 units were delivered to the Air Corp throughout the interwar period. Only one original P-6E survives today, located at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. This model, like the surviving aircraft, bears the colors and markings of the unit assigned to Capt. Ross G. Hoyt, based at Selfridge Field, Michigan, in 1933.
