Four parts in one volume, 4to (185 x 135 mm). Without blank A1, general𒅌 title with printer's ornament within double-ruled border, title to each part within double-ruled border with woodcut flaming heart device, metalcut headpieces, decorative woodcut initials, text within rules with marginal columns for printed side-notes; occasional minor stains, last leaf lightly browned. Later gilt-ruled speckಞled calf skillfully done to style, morocco lettering-piece on spine; light wear at extremities, endpapers renewed.

First edition, and the first appearance in print of three of the four tracts. The preface indicates that "a corrupt and surreptitious edition" of Considerations touching a warre with Spain (STC 1126) compelled Rawley, Bacon's chaplain and literary executor, to publish a corrected version of that work, together with: An Advertisement Tovching an Holy Warre. Written in the yeare 1622; An Offer to Ovr Late Soueraigne Iames, of a Digest to be made of the Lawes of England; and The History of the Reigne of King Henry the Eighth.
