Folio 🌊(282 x 183 mm). Title within elaborate allegorical🐭 woodcut border, divisional titles, many with woodcut ornaments or devices, woodcut initials, numerous illustrative woodcut head- and tail-pieces; title with restoration and mounted on guard, dedication leaf with fore-margin renewed, other smaller internal repairs, P1 with 2-inch internal tear crossing text, a few occasional rust-holes, a few lower corners torn away, a few modern penciled marginal notes. 17th-century blind-ruled calf, gilt lozenge device at center of sides, red morocco lettering-piece on spine; a bit worn and with restoration.
First collected edition, "reissue" of the 1609 edition. Part 1 with the cancel title-page dated 1611 and cancel dedication leaf, Part 2 with title dated 1613 (stop-press variant); B3r stanza 1 begins "Young knight"; this issue includes Prosopopoia. Or Mother Hubberds Tale, which did not appear in the first issue (present here in the presumed firs🌞t edition in a single gathering of eight leaves dated 1612 on the title-page). The large colophon at leaf 2H5v has the date "16012," i.e. 1612. This setting has variants of many of the woodcuts in the earlier 1611 edition.
