Six volumes, 8vo (157 x 110 mm). Contemporary half black stamped leather, black ꦗpebbled cloth boards, gilt-lettered and -ruled on spines; nicks to spine leather. In a black cloth slipcase.


First edition in English, translated from the French by Clara Bell (“made exclusively for the publisher” according to the v🥃ersos of the title-pages). Bell’s “Translator’s Postscript” appears at the beginning of the fifth volume.
