Alexandre Lefaucheur became maître horloger in 1729 and was appointed horloger du roi in 1748. He is recorded at Pont au Change in 17ꦑ48 and later at Quai de l'Horloge between 1772 and 1780.

It shows the same overall shape and the characteristic dragons on either side of the heavily molded arch of the clock's l🍷ower sectio🍃n.

Another régulateur by Lefaucheur 𓃲;was sold, Bonhams London, ꦡ11 July 2018, lot 27.
