This dish depicting Cupid fleeing Psyche belongs also to the series of enamels based on the 32 engravings of the Loves of Psyche, by Agostino Veneziano and the Master of the Die, after the drawings by Michiel de Coxie (1499-1592). Two other examples of the same series belong to this collection, as part of the Chaspoux de Verneuil service, formerly in the collections of Yves Saint Laurent and Hubert de Givenchy.
