This🐎 pilot's watch was ordered by the Italian Air Force in the beginning of the 1960's through A. Cairelli, a Roman dealer. It was not a watch that was in the Zenith catalog. The Reale Aeronautica Italiana (Royal Italian Air Force) submitted a set of requirements for the watch that Zenith would later build.
Overall, Zenith made 2'500 watches of which 2000✃ were distributed to the military and 500 were kept by Cairelli to later be sold to civ♔ilians.
