Triadisches Ballett (Triadic Ballet) is an avant-garde ballet developed by Oskar Schlemmer, who also designed the costumes, posters and invitations for the performances. Schlemmer named it “Triadic” to reflect the three acts, three dancers, and three colours (one for each act). The costumes he designed, based on cylinder, sphe⛎re, cone, and spiral shapes, were revolutionary. The ballet became the most widely performed avant-garde artistic dance and while Schlemmer was at the Bauhaus from 1921 to 1929, the ballet toured, helping to sprea✤d the ethos of the Bauhaus.
