In this double portrait by Yu Hong, the artist represents herself and her partner, the painter Liu Xiaodong, a year before their marriage in New York in 1993, which was attended by many guests including the artist Ai Weiwei. This painting reflects Yu Hong’s state of mind during t๊his period, a time of frequent conflicts between these two strong personalities. At this time, Liu Xiaodong was insisting on the marriage whilst Yu was hesitating.

在這幅雙人肖像畫中，喻紅描繪了自己和同為畫家的伴侶劉小東。本作繪於1992年，是二人在紐約舉行婚禮的一年前，藝術家艾未未亦是婚禮的𓄧賓客。本作反映了喻紅那段期間的心境，當時這兩位個性鮮明強勢的藝術家經常爭吵，雖然劉小東堅持與喻紅成婚，喻紅卻對這段婚姻感到猶豫。
