Les Enfants Terribles 𝓀(1950), style B poster, French
Jean Cocteau (1889-1963)
Unframed: 63 x 47 in. (160 x 119 cm)
This poster was designed by the famous French artist Jean Cocteau. He was a multi-talented artist working in many different mediums: pai⛦nting, illustration, writing, films, tapestry and jewellery. This poster was not the main French release poster, but the s🎃tyle B, of which far fewer were printed. This poster was designed to be pasted onto billboards, therefore only unused examples survived.
Exceptionally rare. This poster has only surfaced a han♎dful of times in the past thirty years.
This film is🗹 based on Jean Cocteau's novel of the same name, which was published in 1929. Cocteau saw Jean-Pierre Melville's first feature film, Le Silence de la Mer, and - impressed with his work - asked Melville to direct this film.
